Strike Brings Innovative Support to CCUS

In early 2023, a major carbon capture facility in Kansas will begin sequestering CO2 from a plant that produces 115 million gallons of ethanol per year. 15 MMCFD of CO2 will be captured and transported by pipeline to storage facilities in Oklahoma and Texas.

Strike is providing construction services on the project to install the majority of a replacement CO2 capture facility with a planning and design-build approach. Contributing project workflow and a reliability focus, the Strike team is building integrity into this new facility driven by a 4,000 HP reciprocating compressor skid located adjacent to the original site.

While this is Strike’s first carbon sequestration project; it builds upon the breadth and depth of our capabilities, competencies and solutions mindset to add alternative energy services to our resume.

Innovative construction solutions for CCUS facilities

Upon winning the mechanical, civil and structural scopes of work, Strike’s facilities team quickly realized the value our Bolt (a wholly-owned specialty services company) team could add by performing the I&E services on this project. Additionally, our Pickett Systems (a wholly-owned measurement and fabrication services company) team performed the pipe fabrication, coating and NDE for the piping. "The collective Strike team worked seamlessly to provide turnkey services which improved the overall project workflow and value for the client on this facility replacement," said Strike COO Jamie Black. Our ability to drive turn-key solutions throughout the value chain and life cycle of our customers' assets is key to our client relations and solutions.
