Stressed & Broke? Don't Read This!

Read Time: Longer Than Usual

?

Introduction?

I'm taking the gloves off on this one so you may want to skip this if you...

  • have thin skin
  • have a fragile ego
  • don't like to hear the truth
  • like living in a state of denial

?

Here goes...

?

Society has been lying to you.

Your family has been deceiving you.

Your employer has been shackling you.

?

Below is the hard, painful truth.

If you can't handle it, stop reading now!?

?

Employee

Your employer...

  • doesn't want you to build your own personal brand on social media
  • wants to pay you the least amount possible but still retain you
  • requires you to beg for a raise or gives you a COL, maybe
  • won't allow you to have a leveraged team under you
  • isn't systemized or professionally managed

?

If you stay an employee your whole life, you will...

  • have a job or profession
  • be trading your time for money
  • be stuck in a linear income model
  • have to work for at least 40-50 years
  • be lucky if you're ever even able to retire
  • most likely become dependent on social security
  • need to work well into your retirement out of necessity

?

A small percentage of employees think the solution is to go out on their own...

?

Self-Employed

Your employer..

  • is now you
  • tries to be all and do all
  • doesn't know how to run a business

?

Congratulations! You now...

  • own a job
  • have a practice
  • are 100% responsible
  • work harder and far longer
  • have more stress and pressure
  • must provide all support functions
  • constantly struggle with cash flow issues

?

Most self-employed professionals have to work their whole life.

That's because solo practices are not valuable or sellable.

Work until you drop or simply cannot work anymore.

Then turn out the lights on your way out the door.

?

Am I being too harsh?? I think not...

I speak from experience.

?

Being self-employed is worse than being an employee.

I don't recommend it but there is an alternative.

Become a successful business owner.

Learn how to build a great business.

?

How to Build a Great Business

Unlike an employee or self-employed professional, a smart business owner thinks differently.

A smart business owner...

  • has a vivid vision
  • does strategic planning
  • knows they need to delegate
  • hires great people & builds teams
  • works on their business not just in it
  • first builds a profitable business model
  • learns how to leverage people & systems
  • creates efficient processes then automates
  • builds marketing, sales & hiring growth engines?
  • focuses on improving value drivers & business value

?

Having created their own franchise prototype, a smart business owner has three choices...

  1. Scale again 5 to 10X
  2. Run business passively
  3. Sell business & retire rich

?

Conclusion

Is there anything wrong with being an employee? No.

Is there anything wrong with being self-employed? No.

?

However, if you want to retire rich -- earlier rather than later -- you should...

  • Consider starting your own business.
  • Learn how to build a great business.
  • One based on leverage & systems.
  • Leverage people, tech & systems.
  • Buy back your time w/ leverage.

?

Time is your most precious asset and resource.

  • Start your own business.
  • Leverage technology.
  • Hire great people.
  • Build systems.

?

Leverge people, systems and technology to do all of your work for you.

Buy back your time so you can...

  • do what you want
  • when you want
  • where you want
  • with who you want

Great read, as always Calvin! Starting our own businesses was, by far, the greatest thing we could have done when it comes to income, freedom, and creating our own future. Sometimes what appears to be the risky option ends up being the least risky choice of them all! Being an employee can be extremely risky!
