We've all had experiences where things happened that were unexpected, where you have a plan and things change, and your whole world flips on its head. That's what happened to me this week.
I was in Atlanta working on a presentation with my business partner when I received a call that my husband had been hit by a car. It wasn't even 9am and this is how I started the day!
Thankfully, he's doing OK, but that's not where the craziness ends.
My assistant who helps edit my weekly podcast episodes dropped the ball big time this week. She didn't get the job done in time, didn't communicate in a timely fashion, and now it's Friday -- but we managed to get the episode released just minutes ago!
With all of this going on, it's been a great exercise for me to practice what I preach and focus on deep breathing, keeping my mindset positive, and taking care of myself as I am juggling our family matters along with my business.
Thank you to all of the wonderful people who reached out to support us. You don't know how much of a community you have until something like this happens. It warms my heart.

The reason I wanted to bring him on is because I get a lot of people who reach out to me when they are burned out. They often feel trapped. They cannot leave their jobs due to financial strain. But what if there were other ways to generate income?

Since we're on the subject, I wanted to share one of my all time favorite TED talks. It's by Kelly McGonigal who shares original research about stress....with a twist. She tackles our belief about stress and how that really matters. It's part of what inspired me to create my keynote entitled, "Flip Your Mindset: Beat Burnout by Rethinking Stress."
