Hey there

How has your week been?

This weeks TOP stress busting tip will not only lower and?manage stressors, which will lead to?improved wellbeing?and a total increase in?happiness levels

It is a complete GAME CHANGER!!

What I'm talking about it?GRATITUDE

First of all...

It is SO much easier to search for the negative. It's the way the brain is wired. Think survival brain, inherited from our ancient ancestors.

What research shows us that if we can?choose?to focus on what we are grateful for.

When we do this, we rewire the brain as we?search?for the positive. Research shows us being in a state of gratitude increases happiness levels, and endorphins. So we create a natural high rather than a chemical one through substances or short term behaviour choices that are no good for us.

We can do this in a few ways:

Be more mindful

Be present and notice ALL the good things around you. There are millions. Use all your senses to appreciate the present, rather than focussing on the negative. When you go for a walk use all your senses. Take time to be still

Complete a Gratitude diary

List all the things you are grateful for either at the start or the end of the day. Big or small. This will allow you to notice ALL the things that are good in your life. Trust me, there are plenty. This practice gets the brain into a state of awareness.

When you are more mindful, present and in a state of gratitude this is naturally know to improve happiness levels and lowers cortisol, the stress hormone.

Internally list everything you are grateful for

You can do this as soon as you wake up (the brain is very suggestible at this time) I'm grateful for this comfy bed, this roof over my head etc etc. How you start the day totally sets you up for the day
