Today I'm going to share with you a really simple, but easy to implement technique anywhere.
It will help you handle?managing stressors, which will?improve overall wellbeing. and lower?stress levels!
It's a very simple?breathing technique?which will help reduce stress immediately.
You see when we get into any type of stress or we have a stressful reaction (which can build over time as we're programmed to do so) cortisol, the stress hormone rises.
With this technique you can lower it straight away and will help bring calm and a sense of clarity.
Additionally, when we are?stressed, we don't tend to breath properly, shallow breath and lack getting in the goodness of oxygen. Breathing strategies not only help us lower stress, they allow us to be more?present?and in the?now.
You can practice this wherever and whenever. The more you practice, the more you will notice a positive difference.
STEP ONE
Have your feet firmly grounded on the floor. Take a nice deep breath in through the nose. Fill up the belly. Hold this to the count of 5.
STEP TWO
Hold the breath, for the count of 6.
STEP THREE
Breath out slowly through the lips, for the count of 7. Hold for a moment or two and repeat the process again.
Repeat this for around 5 minutes, or as long as you need. Check in when you're done. How do you feel? More present? Notice the thoughts dwindle away? If you did feel light headed at any point, don't worry. This can happen. Why? Because we are not used to breathing so deeply, and intaking so much oxygen.
Once you start making this a regular practice, you will notice some very positive, powerful change!
This is a very simple, straight forward technique, but it's one of my favourites. It can get us to the space we need instantly.
