The United Arab Emirates continues to solidify its position as a global leader in fostering international partnerships, as evidenced by the recent high-level delegation visit to Indonesia, led by Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure and Special Envoy of H.H. the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Taking place from January 29 to February 1, the visit marked a significant step in advancing the UAE-Indonesia strategic relationship across multiple sectors, reflecting the shared vision of both nations’ leadership.
Expanding Bilateral Cooperation
During the visit, Al Mazrouei held meetings with key Indonesian officials to explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, infrastructure, and energy. Accompanying the minister was Abdullah Salem Al Dhaheri, the UAE Ambassador to Indonesia and the non-resident Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of East Timor and ASEAN.
The delegation was warmly received by Prabowo Subianto, President of Indonesia, where Al Mazrouei conveyed the greetings and best wishes of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The meeting underscored the strong and evolving relationship between the UAE and Indonesia, now established as a comprehensive strategic partnership spanning political, economic, and cultural domains.
Strengthening Economic and Investment Partnerships
The UAE delegation engaged in discussions with several Indonesian ministers, including Agus Harimurti, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development; Sugiono, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Sri Mulyani, Minister of Finance; and Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Investment. Organized by the UAE Embassy in Jakarta, the event brought together business leaders and representatives from prominent UAE companies such as Etihad Airways, Emirates Airlines, Abu Dhabi Ports, Masdar, Mubadala, and ADNOC, alongside Indonesian counterparts.
