Here's just a couple of comments from the episode...
On Infrastructure Investment???

“There are positives in the infrastructure announcements. Investments in transport, such as funding for the Trans-Pennine upgrade and the East-West Rail line, support key growth corridors from Oxford through to Cambridge via Milton Keynes. These are pretty good long-term infrastructure investments for growth across the UK.”?
“They’ve found some funds to ensure the London Euston connection proceeds, which is essential; otherwise, HS2 could have become a 'white elephant' project that would’ve fallen well short of its full potential.”?
On the Energy Sector?
“While we’ve known GB Energy was coming for a while, it was good to see the proper funding announced for that – now we will be interested in seeing it come to fruition.”?
On Long-Term Planning??
“The emphasis on long-term initiatives is a shift from past criticisms that the UK lacks strategic foresight. While it’s commendable, the timeline for impactful changes, like affordable housing, remains three to five years out, so really it will be a waiting game to see how certain areas of the country recover.”?
