Strengthening the "left hand" of the state

In a recent article in The Lancet, Richard Horton highlights how the neoliberal economic order has undermined a key purpose of the state: guardian of the public interest. Recalling Pierre Bourdieu, Horton assails how few people in medicine and public health talk about the connections between neoliberalism and health.
