Strength of a Woman

Strength of a Woman

As I was about to wrap up my week that was primarily about #WomensDay, I thought to write about the women who I believe shaped me to what I am today.

My grandma, a women of sheer determination, poise & attitude. She is being a working lady all her life and even today when she can hardly walk with the help of a walker, she ensures that her books are maintained for the orphanage she has always worked for as her passion project, she ensures the donations are spent for the causes as per requirements.

My grandma (nani), an absolutely loving lady who would do anything for her kids. An epitome of strength, she has the vibes that are contagiously loving, infectiously social.

My Mom, courage, strength, power, patience, perseverance, resilience, empathy is all imbibed from her. Also imbibed is a little bit of her taste, her love and a mellow heart. I am because she is.

My Bua’s taught me to be together, to love & live jointly. To relish, enjoy, be there, be angry and most importantly how to laugh about it all and be there for each other in happiness and in pain.

My mami, she was the first one who took me to her office (then BALCO) when I was a child may be in standard 6th and she gave me the hope of being a professional woman someday and to have a life like that. She gave the sense of freedom, of being you.

My teachers, who taught the lessons that went to become lifelong lessons of learning.

My blogger friends who inspired to feel, write and share about our own feelings. To share, care, inspire and engage with unknown but like-minded people.

My friends, who taught me to have fun, to be me, to relax, break rules and be myself. They encouraged and empowered.

My sister, she lets me be, she teaches me self-love, she allows me to irritate and she empowers me whenever I am in need of a push- professional or personal.

My clients, who tell me its kicking to have dreams and work for those dreams as they are real. They boost my spirit and they are living examples of being a woman of her own substance.

My colleagues and interns, they inspire me to take a break, to go easy, to dream more, to be.

My nieces, they all remind me of my journey from a dad’s loving daughter to a woman who dared to dream! And also how worthy it is to be a woman.

And like they, a strong woman has the ability to change generations. I guess I am the third one talking about how it all started :)

Happy Women's Day :)
