There’s no doubting that Mark Cavendish is a sporting legend. His comeback at this year’s Tour de France to equal fellow legend Eddy Merckx’s all-time record for stage wins was nothing short of remarkable.

When asked to explain his success, he talked about the two vital ingredients that he needed – a team that functioned as a team and a bike that fitted him. Delve a little deeper, and he talks about world champions willing to bury themselves to get him in the right place at the right time to deliver.

When it comes down to it, those same ingredients are often those that come together to make a business successful. A team that gels and works together to achieve the common purpose supported by the right tools for the job. At least that’s we see things here at Genasys.

To use another cycling analogy – this time from the track rather than the road – having been hurled into the race by a hand-sling from our now chairman, Steve Symes, my joint CEO Craig Olivier and I are committed to ensuring that we continue to give our people the tools and support they need to deliver for our clients and more importantly, their customers.

We’ve built our platform to be agile and that’s exactly what insurers, MGAs and brokers need right now. Consumer demand is evolving fast, particularly in light of changes wrought by the pandemic, and while insurance providers recognise the need to change existing products and bring new solutions to market just as quickly, the simple truth is that they’re hindered by legacy systems. Those same legacy systems also present a barrier when it comes to exploiting the huge number of insurtech offerings out there that can improve pieces of the value chain.

Our zero code tools and open architecture gets around that – helping insurance providers to get innovative new ideas out to market fast and seamlessly integrate with insurtech or any other third party service they need to enhance the customer experience.

And all the innovation here at Genasys has been driven by our people. While we might sell technology, we think of ourselves more as problem solvers. We encourage everyone in our team to constantly challenge how things are done, identify problems and come up with solutions to address them. And to ensure they have the tools to deliver those solutions, we’re constantly reinvesting in and upgrading our platform.

Nice article. Is 'the best possible team' a wolf pack? I know that Genasys are more than a bunch of killing animals..... no? Teams are far more nuanced and sophisticated than that, no?

That's a pertinent and well-written piece buddy. The message is important and so true; a team is greater than the sum of its parts. Additionally, when you've got everyone - from the world champion to the domestique willing to lay it all on the line for you, anything is possible.
