-Strength for Today- "Your True Worth." - John 3:16
God took:
· A tree,
· A hammer and
· Three nails
And qualified, your worth. Jesus, therefore, in order to please His Father, knew your true worth, and that's why He died. My question to you is, “Do you know how much your true worth?” So then, do you, who perhaps are without:
· Power,
· Influence,
· Money or
· Education,
Really know your worth? There’s a great deal of difference between value and worth. For an example, when one assesses the monetary value of the chemicals and elements found in the human body, the value is only $4. 50:
· $3.50 for the skin, and
· $1.00 is assigned to the elements.
Yet combined they constitutes an individual who is, one of a kind, made in the image of God. And all the gold in the world can't balance the worth of an individual. Therefore, when it comes to your existence in relationship to God; that relationship is strictly one-on-one. Because no one else:
· Sees with your eyes,
· Feels what you feel, or
· Thinks what you think,
Because you’re unique. And of the 7.53 billion people on earth, you’re one of a kind without duplication. That's why your true worth can be assessed only in terms of what God was willing to sacrifice to bring you back into fellowship with Him, namely His Son. Calvary’s cross wasn’t an abstract idea or a theological concept.
· It’s the bottom line picture of sacrifice,
· The hard cold price
That God paid because He loves you and me as individuals. So then we’re not:
· Mistakes, or
· Rejected cast-off sinful human beings.
Because when we were conceived, we were endowed with a human soul and were made in the image of Almighty God. And any mode of worship that removes the cross from God’s purposeful righteous equation, takes away from Christianity the only true representation of how God views our worth. So when you want to know what your worth is in God's sight, read Jesus’ words that says, “For the Son of man is come to seek and save that which was lost” –Luke 19:10. Now He’s the answer! He came to rescue you and me from the pangs of sin and show us the way to heaven!
