-Strength for Today- "When Your Spirit is Broken." - 1 Corinthians 10: 11-13.
Sometimes life will take you from one spectrum to another. One moment the hand of bewilderment will occupy your mind, then you’re convicted to “pray,” and “read Scriptures,” from:
· The Psalms and Proverbs to the
· Words of Jesus,
And various sections of the letters from Paul, Peter, James, without much comforting peace. And perhaps sometimes you’ll even feel like Job, who admitted, “If I speak my grief is not relived, and if I remain silent, what has left me…. “My spirit is broken” –Job 16:6; 17:1.
But when you “lessen” the weight you’re carrying, and focus on the enlightening comfort of the Holy Spirit, He’ll guide you, so that “despair” becomes hope, and
· His purpose and
· His power,
Becomes the “spiritual standard you live by. One of the many things that the Holy Spirit enlightens you with is “wisdom.” The lesson of wisdom is the “applicable spiritual knowledge,” of which you apply every day in your life. So
be not dismayed when your soul is trouble, but count it no strange thing, but an
· Ordinary part of the “Christian experience,” that’s
· Lived “day by day,” and “hour by hour.”
Therefore, don’t be surprised when men fail you. Why? Because you’re living in a “failing world.” Be content to be nothing, other than who you are.
So be content to be nothing than who you are in Christ Jesus, even if you can’t see beyond this world’s crushing thoughts of anxiety. And no longer should you say that "perilous times will come," (2 Timothy 3:1-5), because:
· They’ve, arrived.
· They’re now,
And we must face them head-on, doing whatever is necessary, for the sake of Christ to stand firm. We may even now may be living in the generation, before all “hell” breaks loose. What we’re seeing now, in the face of:
· The coronavirus pandemic, and
· The Protesting that’s happening all over the world,
Is but an elementary rehearsal set in place, before the impending doom of evil breaks through. But through it all:
God Will Take Care of You
Be not dismayed whate'er betide God will take care of you. Beneath His wings of love abide God will take care of you
God will take care of you, through every day, o'er all the way He will take care of you, God will take care of you
No matter what may be the test, God will take care of you. Lean, weary one, upon His breast, God will take care of you
God will take care of you, through every day, o'er all the way He will take care of you, God will take care of you
