-Strength for Today- "When Good Enough isn't Good Enough. - Ecclesiastes 7: 13-16.

God loves us, (John 3:16,) and has provided the very best for our lives. The problem is that many will look at God’s provisions, and decide they don't want it His way. In society we're being taught that “good enough is “good enough.” The fault with this mindset is that it can't be translated to a pleasing and worshipful life.

Genuine worship isn't an escape from our everyday businesses. Worshipping God is an experience, one which you’ll feel completely overwhelmed by His presence. It is a Holy Spirit empowering time, whereas your thoughts are on the presence of God, in spite of the world's distractions. Being “good enough” won’t be accepted in the Kingdom of God, because God doesn't change His standards. We must change ours.

Instructing His disciples, Jesus said, “That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter the kingdom of heaven” - Matthew 5:20. When you look at the world, what do you see?  You’ll see:

  • Intriguing clouds,
  •  Majestic mountains,
  •  Spectacular sunrises and
  • Moonlit nights.

It’s easy to focus on these acts of nature, and overlook the marvel of God, how that He sent His only begotten Son to rescue us from our depraved lostness by His obedient work completed on the cross. Therefore, it is only here that our vision is changed, and our minds and are filled with His presence, and are:

  • Amazed and
  • Grateful for all He has done, for us. It’s here that we realize that our ways aren't “good enough.”

These are reasons to make God the focus of our lives., and for us to fill our minds with His Word that we might:

  • Think His thoughts, and
  •  Spend quality time with Him in prayer,

That we might know Him intimately, and our lives might be filled with His presence. So, don’t be content with society's “good enough” theory, which it declares to be righteous. Seek God afresh and worship Him!

The Summary of Ecclesiastes: "Now all has been heard; ?here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God?and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil." (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14)
