-Strength for Today- "Stop Allowing People to Determine Your Worth." - Ephesians 2:10.
Some people believe they’re qualified to place people on platforms, where they can label them according to their own demented wishes. But such a mind-set is spiritually appalling to God. Because after the fall of man in Genesis 3: 6-7, the curse of death was place on man and from:
· Then unto
· Now,
The label of “disobedient defiled sinners”, has been genetically placed upon the whole human race, because, “There is none righteous, no not one. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” – Romans 3: 10-23.
But God had a plan, a plan that would untangle the lustful web, of entrapment, weaved by Satan’s evil intent. But “In the fullness of time,” (Galatians 4:4), God sent His Son to carry out His plan. So when people gaze down on you, they’re doing so out of “spiritual ignorance,” because their demented hearts are tied to Satan’s hatred for God.
God’s plan, through His Son, was that He would die on the cross, and by faith, allow us to embrace the soul-gripping freedom of salvation, which guarantees us that we’ll gaze into the face of:
· Peace and
· Embrace the King of Kings, and
· Lord of Lords!
This Biblical promise is for every born again believer, which is an assurance of our place in God’s heaven, a place we’re invited to share because of who we are in
Jesus Christ – John 1:12. Therefore, what other people say about:
· Your culture
· Your ethnicity, or
· Your financial standings,
Or your status in society, don’t’ determine your worth. Because in Christ Jesus, God has already established that worth. He created you and me as His “masterpiece.”
I love how the colorful language that the “Voice Bible writes Ephesians 2:10 as “We are the product of His hand, heaven’s poetry etched on lives, created in the Anointed, Jesus, to accomplish the good works God arranged long ago.” Therefore, the unchanging God has determined our worth:
· Not because of who we were in Adam,
· But who we’ve become in Christ Jesus – 2 Corinthians 5:17.
When God looks at you and me He sees us as we really are:
· His best and
· His work of art!
God says we have great worth, because He created us. One thing I find fascinating about a master piece, is that it’s worth is determined by who made it. And when we remember that, and we lean in to hear God tell us that we’re:
· Worthy, and
· Loved
By Him, that’s good enough. Because where others see only a blot of paint spread out on a piece of canvas, God looks at our spiritually surrendered transformed souls, and see a masterpiece, and a costly one at that! – Ephesians 1:13-14.
