-Strength for Today-"Salvation Has Nothing to Do with Human Perfection!" -Isaiah 55: 1
From the beginning God chose the dust of the ground to form man, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul. The word soul identifies something that cannot be defined materially - Genesis 2:7. God, in contrast to the animals He created, now said, “Let us make man, after our likeness” – Genesis 1:26. When He used the term after our likeness, His reference applied only to man being in a spiritual likeness, and not that of divine perfection, because Godly perfection:
· Cannot and
· Never will
Be compromised by the injustice of the created! It would be like the watch telling the watch maker what time it is. When man fell, he retained the impaired image of God, and when left to himself, his depraved mind was void having a deeper knowledge and understanding of who God is, and how we as the fallen can now relate to Him:
· Physically,
· Emotionally or
· Spiritually.
Because when Adam and Eve introduced sin to the world, the human mind and nature became tied to the world, which cancelled out the righteousness of God, both then and in the time to come. So in order to regain a likeness of God, again it must start with the One that begun the process. Even though from the beginning, He took the dust from the earth, which was composed of:
· Rocks,
· Sand, Clay, and
· Other Organic matter
To form man from the beginning, now the process of regaining spiritual likeness must be restored through justification. And to regain the character of God, this can only be accomplished through salvation. Have you ever considered what your salvation is resting upon? It has to withstand:
· The world,
· The flesh and,
· The devil!
Even though the process of salvation would cost God dearly, it is important to note that renders it as a free gift – Ephesians 2:8-9! You see, God placed no price tag on the Gift of gifts… it is free! Preachers are not salesmen, for they have nothing to sell. They are bearers of Good News, and the good tidings that “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures” -1 Corinthians 15:3.
· Money cannot buy it.
· Man’s righteousness cannot earn it.
· Social prestige cannot help you acquire it, and
Morality cannot purchase it. It then is, “……. without money and without price.”- Isaiah 55:1. God is not a bargaining God. You cannot barter with Him. You must do business with Him on His own terms. For He alone holds in His omnipotent hand the priceless, precious, eternal gift of salvation. And “Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear Him, for he knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust” So He bids you and me to take His gift of salvation, without money and without price.
