-Strength for Today- "Our God of Faith." - Hebrews 11:6.
Faith is ultimately a supernatural work of God, that starts when our faith is on God. Faith is loved and honored by God more than any other single thing. The Bible teaches that faith is the only approach that we have to God.
· No man has sins forgiven,
· No man goes to heaven,
· No man has assurance of peace and happiness,
Until he has faith in Jesus Christ. But when that faith is hindered by the sly innuendoes of Satan, the character of God takes a back seat. And Satan’s become the stepping stone, and the doors of evil opens to darkness which at best leads only to worldly intents, such as “the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life” – 1 John 2:16.
Though all people are tempted differently according to their individual weaknesses, which always follows the inherited patterns of Adam and Eve’s:
· Physical desires,
· Personal desires, and their
· Self-interests.
Because when Satan caused the fall of man, all faith in God was gone, because his hate for God, he appealed to the area of God’s intent (Genesis 1:27), which caused, man’s loss of identity. And from here man’s alienation from God became obvious. Because the foundation of:
· Significance and
· Security
Upon which man once stood, was now “broken”, and “repair” became the necessary maintenance for that foundation of oneness to be “reversed”. Because in “brokenness”, God couldn’t have any further communion with man, because His purposeful declaration was made when He declared, “...the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” - Genesis 2:17c. Here God had emphasized His firm commitment, so only “redemption” could restore what sin had destroyed. Without restoration there’s nothing that can lead to God, all other ways are:
· Demonically stained, with the
· Pretense of religiosity.
Therefore, faith lived in oneness with God must be as a divine pillow of “trust”, a “dependency that’s not bound by this world, but is anchored in the power of His
· Purpose, and
· Promises,
As the late Dr. M.L. King said, “The God whom we worship is not a weak and incompetent God. He is able to beat back gigantic waves of opposition and to bring low prodigious mountains of evil. The ringing testimony of the Christian faith is that God is able.”
