-Strength for Today- "The Light That’ll Never Flicker, or Fade." - 2 Corinthians 3:18
As servants of God, we must stand alone, in such a way that he or she doesn’t realize that they’re alone. In the early stages of the Christian life:
· Disappointments will come,
· People who used to be “lights in our lives” will “flicker out”, and
· Those who used to stand with us will “turn their backs on us.
And for that reason we have to become:
· Emotionally and
· Mentally
Calloused to this treatment, so that we’ll not even realize that in our “space of purpose” we’re standing alone. And to this, Paul said “…no one stood with me, but all men forsook me…But the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me…” – 2 Timothy 4:16-17.
So then we must build our faith, not on fading lights bur on the Light that never fails. True faith is standing and becoming effective for God, wherever He have you planted. you planted. Oh I know how sad it is when those affective people in our lives go away, until we see that the Holy Spirit is the:
· Comforter, and
· Perfecter of our soul.
And when this happens we can see that these individuals were meant to go, so that only one thing is left for us to do, and that is to look unto Jesus who is, “…the Light of the world” - John 8:12), and “the Author and finisher of our faith” – Hebrews 12:2.
In all you do, look to Jesus, and obediently allow the Holy Spirit to endow you with a strong determination to preach or teach a message from the Word of God, then the glory, that belongs to God, will remain through all of it.
A Christian servant is one who perpetually looks with determinate faith to his Master for the purpose of carrying out His will. So you see, the ministry of Jesus Christ is characterized by an abiding glory of which the servant is totally unaware. For an example, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with God” - Exodus 34:29. Therefore, we’re never called on to
Display our doubts openly or to
Express the hidden joys and delights of our life with God. The secret of the servant’s life is that he or she stays, “in tune with God all the time”.
