-Strength for Today- How Clearly Can You Remember? - 2 Samuel 7:18-22.

One of the mysteries of life is how clearly we can “intellectually” remember certain events, yet we so easily forget many others. But let me share this with you, It’ll take more than “intellectual powers” to escape the realities of God faithfulness. Even in the Old Testament, when Israel were sojourning in the wilderness, (Leviticus 23:42-43), He wanted them to remember how they were delivered through His miraculous power. In other words, God wanted to make sure:

·       They would never take His blessings for granted, and in addition,

·       He wanted them to always remember Him and

·       Live for Him.

And as we go about our lives today, we must remember that even beyond the “intellectual,” capabilities, we need to remember that “where we are” and “all we’ve overcome” is all due to God’s faithfulness.  Including the:

·       Emotional,

·       Physical, and

·       Spiritual,

Traumas we face; these same principles are true for each of us. God wants us to remember all that He has done for us, but also to be conscious of the debt we owe to others. We should remember those, such as those:

·       Godly men and

·       Women, and

Parents who provided for us, teachers who taught us God’s Word, and all the others godly men and women who left us a legacy of service and sacrifice. So today, think about all God has done for you! Recall the people who’ve made a difference in your life: parents, family members, pioneers, pathfinders, friends, and ministers. But most of all remember all that Jesus did for you on the Cross, and allow God to cleanse you of sin. Celebrate newness of life, and be thankful to God and the people He has used in your life to make you the person you are, all for the glory of God!
