-Strength for Today- "He’s an On Time God!" - Mark 6:48
The words “frustration” and “suffering” can be synonymously painful, particularly when you’re doing what you were told to do. Because even in your obedience darkness will “dim,” the light, that was intended for your path – (see Psalm 119:105). But even if you’re caught in the storm of life, and is tossed:
· To and
· Fro,
As a child of God, it’s still best to obey His command, rather than nestle for a season in a messy mental and emotional “pig-sty,” of worldliness. It’s one thing to suffer for doing wrong. But it’s something entirely different to suffer for doing right. But listen, it’ll happens, regardless that of those “na?ve” assumption, “if I do right, or “I’ll never suffer.”. And if you don’t believe me just ask that:
· Faithful couple whose crib is empty and whose womb is barren, or that
· Missionary who took a stand for the truth, and was slaughter for the sake of righteousness.
Even in an arena of righteousness, “wild winds” will blow, and “the storms” still bounce about in your life, leaving you wondering,
· “Why the storms”? and
· “Where is Jesus”?
It’s bad enough to be in a storm, but to be in it alone can be devastating. But even there, how many times did you call on the Lord for help? Deep down you believed He was near, yet repeatingly you ponder in your mind”
· Why did He take so long?
· Why does He take so long?
But regardless of your pondering mind, you can rest assuredly that, “He’s an on time God. He may not come when you want Him, but He’ll be there on time.” Mark, (6:48), tells us that during the storm Jesus “saw them struggling.”
· Through the night He saw them.
· Through the storm He saw them.
And like a loving father, “He waited” until the right time. He waited until He knew it was “time to come”, and then He came. So:
· What made the time right? I don’t know.
· Why was the ninth hour better than the fourth or fifth? I can’t answer that either.
· Why does God wait until the money is gone?
· Why does He wait until the sickness has lingered?
· Why does He choose to wait until the other side of the grave to answer the prayers for healing?
My “finite” answer to all these questions is still, “I don’t know.” But I do know that, “He’s an on time God, He may not come when you want Him, but He’ll be there on time.” Therefore, I only know that His timing is right. I can only say He’ll do what’s best. Luke 18:7 says. “Will not God grant justice to His elect who cry out to Him day and night? Will He delay to help them?” –HCSB.
· Though you hear nothing, He’s speaking.
· Though you see nothing, He’s acting, and
· Though you’re on your death bed, you’re healed
Because, with God there’re no accidents. Every incident is intended to bring us closer to Him!
