-Strength for Today- "The Heart of Man." Jeremiah 17:10-11.

Physically and spiritually, God designed us to be “heart people.” In this life, we need the heart to do “something,” in order to get “something” done. The physical heart is important. It’s a small organ that manages the whole body and as small as it is it can cause havoc, if not properly managed. Because:

  • It pumps blood to the body,
  • It keeps the body alive and healthy,
  • It’s the center of life for the body, and
  • It determines the outcome of life for the body.

However, the physical heart, naturally has some characteristics that can impair our “spiritual life.” Therefore, with the guidance of The Holy Spirit, we must surrender those “persuasive” deeds to God.

Because the “spiritual heart,” is driven by the “Spirit of God,” whose purpose is to align, through faith in Jesus Christ the “deprave heart of man” to His righteousness. And through the transforming work of the Holy Spirit, the spiritual heart will:

  • Dictates your spiritual health, good or bad,
  • Determines what comes out of your mouth, and will
  • Determine your destiny.

God’s Word says, “The heart is deceitfully above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it. I the LORD search the heart, try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doing’ - Jeremiah 17: 10-11.

And because of this inherited condition, no one born after the similitude of Adam have the ability to do good without God. Because of Adam, "All have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23), and:

  • Your heart does condemn you; and
  • My heart condemns me when I sin

Because I know it’s a diseased heart, but praise be to God, His grace is greater that all my sin!

Grace is Greater Than All Our Sin

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord, grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt, yonder on Calvary's mount outpoured, there where the blood of the Lamb was spilt.

Grace, grace, God's grace, grace that will pardon and cleanse within; grace, grace, God's grace, grace that is greater than all our sin.
