-Strength for Today- "God Values our Prayers."- Revelations 5:8
Whether you’re a believer or a non-believer, prayer is most valued to God. Prayer isn’t only a privilege and a blessing, but is a strengthener to the soul. Therefore, prayer is our way of personalizing Scripture, so that God’s promises becomes alive and active - Hebrews 4:12. Prayer helps:
· The believer and with the convicting power of the Holy Spirit,
· The nonbelievers’ hearts, in light of this fact,
Are opened to the truth of God’s Word. In that the convicting work of the Holy Spirit will guides the non-believing sinner from:
· A death sentence, (Romans 6:23a) to,
· A personal request for salvation – Romans, (6:23b),
By them, “Confessing with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” – Romans 10-: 9-10.
To the believer, prayer helps to determine God’s will, by keeping them focused on the prize of their relationship, with Lord Jesus Christ. Prayer is a prerequisite to “spiritual awakening”, in that prayer:
· Helps the believer overcome temptation, (1 Corinthians 10:13), and is a
· Weapon for spiritual warfare.
· Prayer is valuable to God.
His Word tells us that prayer is kept in bowls in heaven -Revelations 5:8. The Bible doesn’t tell us that our:
· Praise and
· Worship
Is kept in bowls. Nor does it tell us that choir songs are kept that way; but prayers are, according to the vision of heaven given to the apostle John in the book of Revelation. Just think: Some average person in the mountains of Peru, or perhaps some new Christian that’ll lift their heart and says, “God, help us!” Listen, that prayer is kept forever. Therefore, it’s a fact that prayers don’t die; they’re:
· Treasured and
· Valued by God and
Kept before Him forever, and in this we can be find encouraged by knowing that even when you and I say a simple prayer, it doesn’t evaporate, but is put in a bowl as a sweet-smelling aroma before Him.
So let’s lift up our hearts in prayer today with confidence that God not only hears and answers prayer, but that he actually treasures our petitions and our supplications and keeps them before him forever and ever!
