-Strength for Today-"God is the Source of Our Security!" - Isaiah 52:12.
The Word of God says, “That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past” – Ecclesiastes 3:15. It then is amazing how we can “shout” with eagerness to all that God has for the future, and yet we allow:
· Worry,
· Nervousness and a
· Surge of unease,
To caress our consciousness, when we remember our yesterdays. And when we dwell there, we’re allowing the:
· Present enjoyment of God’s grace, to be
· Lessened by the memories of “yesterday’s stupid and careless mistakes”.
But listen, our God is the God of our yesterdays, and He allows the memory of our past to be turned personal “spiritual growth;” by allowing His Comforting Spirit to remind us of our past, for the purpose of protecting us from a very shallow security that the world offers in the present. Because, “…The Lord, He it is that doth go before thee” –Deuteronomy 31:8a.
Now this my brothers and sisters in Christ is a:
· Gracious and
· Supernatural
Assured truth, in how that God will send His forces out where we have failed to do so. He’ll, through the Holy Spirit will keep watch so that we won’t be tripped up again by the same failures, if He weren’t our “rear guard.” His unchanging hand of righteousness reaches back to the past, and settles all the claims against our conscience.
Therefore, whatever you’re facing today, face it by “Trusting in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding,” (Proverbs 3:5), and as you go forth, let it not be “...in haste” (Isaiah 52:12),
· Nor in thoughtless care,
· Nor should you act
Without the driven forethought of Holy Spirit, but as you face today, let it be in the:
· Patience, and
· Power
Of knowing that the God of Israel will go before us. Because our yesterday’s held brokenness, and irreversible things for us. In that we’ve all lost opportunities that’ll never return. But God’s transforming power can turn this destructive anxiety into a constructive thoughtfulness for the future. So let the past rest, but let it rest in the sweet embrace of Jesus Christ. And
leave the:
· Broken, and
· Irreversible
Past in His hands, and step out, by faith into the powerful and eternal future with Him!
