-Strength for Today-"Encountering the Power of God."-Genesis 1:2
In Genesis 1:2, we are told that the earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. But things were not going to stay that way for too long, for God had a plan. With one decision, God spoke, and out of nothing, something happened. And existence became a measurable reality. Out of nothing came light, and out of light came day. Then came the sky, and earth. And on this earth, the mighty hand went to work.
· He carved out canyons,
· Dug cavities for the oceans,
Then with one look, the flatlands, erupted and became mountains. This alone underscores the reality that God alone is omnipotent, and the sovereign power of the universe spoke, and all that is leaped into existence. “For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself formed that the earth and made it; he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else” — Isaiah 45:18.
Only God has creative power and only He has originating power. Only He can make something out of absolutely nothing." Hebrews 11:3 says, "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear." God is the One who can make something out of nothing. Man cannot create anything, nor can he cause an object to go return back to its nothing state. Because in order to destroy the visible presence of all molecules must cease to exist, without any record of its existence. on earth.
So then, we showed up in this universe with a striking purpose that we must live by, and they are,
1. We have a solemn obligation to God because He created us and the Bible says in Ecclesiastes 12:1, "Remember now thy Creator” - Ecclesiastes 12:1. We are an obligated to God. Even after He passed the death sentence on us, (Genesis 2:16-17), He gave us a stay of execution by redeeming us – 1 Peter 1:19.
2. Not only do we have an obligation to God, but God has an obligation to us, because He is “a faithful Creator” – 1 Peter 4:19. When God brought us into this universe, He did not make us to abandon us.
So when you give your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ by trusting Him as your Lord and Savior, you are fulfilling your obligation to Him. You are saying:
· "You made me,
· You redeemed me, and
· I surrender to You." When He comes into you, to guard you, guide you, protect you, and take care of you, He is fulfilling His obligation to you!
