-Strength for Today- "Do All to the Glory of God! - 1 Corinthians 10:23-31.

When Jesus Christ becomes our personal savior; we signed up to become obedient the cause He came to earth to fulfil. Jesus came to please His Father, and bring glory to His name. Therefore, to glorify Him means that we’re to acknowledge the greatness and splendor of His Majesty through honor, worship and praise of which He alone is worthy.

Verses 23-31 of 1 Corinthians 10, is summarized by saying:

  • We have the right of doing anything, but not
  • Everything is beneficial, and
  • Even though we have that right,
  • Not everything is constructive,

Because not everything is done to glory God. Then we come to verse 31 which says, “Whether therefore, ye eat, or drink, or whatever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” The question you must now ask about everything is, “How will this glorify God?” You see, God is intent on displaying who He is. Psalm 19:1 2 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the heavens showeth His handiwork. Day unto day uttered speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge.” So, we can say that the heavens are God’s “preachers” in the sky who proclaim 24 hours a day the truth and glory of God.

Everything should point us to His glory, and if it doesn’t, it’s because we're too:

  • Prideful, and
  • Self-centered

To look for His glory. And if we’re “centered on ourselves,” we’re “in sin.” Sin is simply our inherited “mess” left by Adam, which caused us to come short of God’s glory. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of God’s glory.” You don’t have to rob a bank to be a sinner. All you have to do is try taking the glory that belongs to God alone.

God’s glory is everywhere. Revelation 21:23 says, “And the city had no need of the sun neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is light thereof.” There is no night there, for the place is consumed with the glory of God. His glory is so awesome that it lights up our heavenly home.

When you glorify God, you usher His power and majesty into your daily life. The glory of God can change the ordinary into the extraordinary. Seek His glory in everything.

Yes, Lord, Yes"

I’ll say yes, Lord, yes to your will and to your way I’ll say yes, Lord, yes, I will trust you and obey When your Spirit speaks to me with my whole heart I’ll agree and my answer will be yes, Lord, yes.

Lord, I give you all the glory For what you’ve done for me (or "for what you’ve given me") You fill my life until I overflow All I have (or "am") is yours to use Anyway you choose You’re the Lord of lords, so how can I say no? I’ll say yes, Lord, yes to your will and to your way I’ll say yes, Lord, yes, I will trust you and obey. When your Spirit speaks to me With my whole heart I’ll agree And my answer will be yes, Lord, yes
