-Strength for Today- "America, We Need a Revival. - Psalm 85: 1-7

All across America, we’re seeing a change in the landscape. We’ve gone from:

  • Political reckoning, to a
  • Pandemic crisis,

That's causing many people to become, muffled to the core, “without hope.” So, how do we know whether we need a revival? Historically, revivals are preceded by:

  • Anger,
  • Addictions
  • Continuous crises,
  • Spiritual decline, and
  • Service without passion,

Which is marked by divisiveness. The need for revival is simply a result of sin in our lives, because of those ungodly alienating facts. Because from:

     1. The east to the west coast, even

     2. The flooding gulf coast, and

      3. The Appalachians highlands,

Holy Spirit driven revival is needed, so that there can be “restoration” of the “spiritual life” of God’s people, so that there can be a “spiritual” return to the abundant life God intended for His followers.

When God revives us, we can expect authentic change and real spiritual power. Daily across this country, we’re seeing people both believers, and non-believers experiencing chaotic circumstances. So, if you’re a Christian, prayerfully examine yourself, and allow the Holy Spirit to show you God’s purposed plan for your life during this pandemic. And make His purpose worthy, through focusing on the purpose of the plan.

Seek Him and allow Him to show you the sin He wants you to turn from. In doing so, you can ultimately usher in a revival in your soul. David’s cry in this psalm is one we each must echo, “Wilt thou not revive us again, that Thy people may rejoice in Thee?”

Each of us must spend time in devotion and in prayer, asking God to let us see ourselves and our situation from His perspective. And let Him reveal the meaning in the mess we’re in, as He draws us near to Him, in this needed time of revival.

  Revive us Again

We praise Thee, O God! For the Son of Thy love, for Jesus who died, and is now gone above, Hallelujah! Thine the glory, Hallelujah! Amen Hallelujah! Thine the glory, revive us again.

All glory and praise, to the Lamb that was slain, who has taken our sins, and has cleansed every stain

Hallelujah! Thine the glory, Hallelujah! Amen Hallelujah! Thine the glory, revive us again.
