Strength in numbers
In the first of a new series of blogs, Huddle details the growth and opportunities that arise when fostering mutually beneficial collaborations.
At Huddle, we work at the cutting edge of technology and, subsequently, are presented with a lot of opportunities for research and development. Naturally, the way we plan our work is driven by business objectives - sometimes interesting and promising projects need to be set aside because they are riskier in terms of the guaranteed value they may add in the short term. This is a wonderful opportunity for a group of ambitious, fresh-minded students to challenge themselves and show what they are capable of.
Some of our initial employees and top performers studied at FER Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb, so when the opportunity arose for collaboration with Mario Br?i?, Assistant Professor at FER and a veteran in the field of Data Science and AI, for us it was a no-brainer.
Mario places this collaboration in extremely high regard, and has high hopes for its continued success.
“I was absolutely thrilled to join Huddle as an Advisor for Data Science and AI,” he said, “where I’m working with the Engineering and Quantitative Development teams to help drive long-term projects and goals. Huddle puts great stock into developing innovative products using the most advanced technology available.”
“When Filip Komljenovi?, whom I mentored during his Bachelor’s and Masters theses, told me about this company he’s working for and introduced me to the co-founders, the decision to work with such a fast-growing, forward-thinking company was an easy one for me. Selecting students from the university was a relatively simple task – as their mentor, I was well aware of all of their strengths and passions and this made it easy to assign them to the projects that suit them best. The sky is the limit for these talented students, and I look forward to seeing what they will accomplish.”
Led by our advisor Prof. Mario Br?i?, these young engineers have the chance to work on a real-world problem without time constraints and with added flexibility. The decision paid dividends almost immediately, with us recently integrating one of their contributions into production!
