A Streamlined Powerblox Portfolio: Smaller Apps, More Value
Why we streamlined our Powerblox portfolio and how do our customers benefit from this?
From day one, we focused on building a strong brand identity. Our apps, meanwhile, have built a reputation for quality and excellence that few can match. In order to better serve our customers in the future, we have made some changes to our products and to our brand portfolio. Some apps we split up, others we changed names. In addition, we have now also launched a number of fixed bundles as alternative for vertical add-ons.
80% rule
The reason why we split apps is quite simple. We want our customers to be able to use our apps to the maximum and not pay for large applications where you need less than half of the functionalities. We call this the 80% rule.
International focus
The name changes of the apps have to do with our internationalization. After extensive research with our customers, we have discovered that the flag does not always cover the load. Some names did not speak for themselves. In times of search and find, this is a marketing handicap. Some apps had high search volumes and associated page visits in Microsoft AppSource. Other apps were not often found.
Impact on existing customers
For our existing customers, the name changes and app splits are automatically implemented during the next update. So they don't have to do anything for this themselves. Our development team ensures that all references between the apps remain intact. Business continuity is key.
Fixed bundles
We implemented a bundle pricing strategy and can now offer a number of apps at a discounted price when purchased together.
领英推荐
We have grouped applications that are frequently purchased in certain industries. That is an advantage for the customers because they can enjoy a nice discount. It’s an advantage for the partners because the bundles are even more competitive. And at the end of the day, the total sales volume is higher.
