What is correct Strategy for servers hosting? Public Cloud/Private Cloud?
Today many organizations exploring options for hosting their Applications/servers in Data Center. Some organization has cloud first strategy which means any application Infra requirements they will prefer cloud first. Many CEO feels that their CIO is futuristic if he has cloud 1st Strategy.
The advantage with cloud 1st Strategy is scalability & Innovations.This is suitable for variable workload applications and it reduces time to roll out applications. However, this flexibility will certainly increase cost in long run.
The right strategy for server hosting is Hybrid i.e both Private and Public Cloud. Public Cloud is more suitable for variable workload applications like IOT, CRM and eCommerce applications. However static workload applications like ERP, Quality Systems, SCM, Planning and Optimization tool etc. can continue on the Private Cloud. This will help organizations to keep their cost IT operations under control
It all depends on latency that u have between your office to public and private cloud.
