Strategies to Get the Job/Internship by Going to The Library of Heaven

If you are a graduating senior, my guess is you are freaked out about finding that full time job you are supposed to get after having invested many sleepless nights cramming for exams these last four years. Young professionals, you are likely crossing your fingers, saying prayers, and hoping to God that you aren’t the next COVID-19 casualty to a furlough or layoff. And we can’t forget our college students who count on the summer internships to gain career readiness skills, to add relevant experience on their resumes, and to earn cold hard cash to pay for their college tuition.

So after you have a quick melt down, pick yourself up off the floor, and remember, God is still in control. He cares about you, and He has a plan. Just ask Jeremiah. We all like to quote that scripture, but when it comes time to living it out in times like this, well, we fail to walk in the confidence of it. But I have a strategy to share with you!

Really, it’s more of a key for how to access the strategies you need, and it is super simple. Many of you have the key in your wallet—a library card. Crazy, I know, but hang with me as I unpack the secret to this little card.

On Tuesday afternoon I was speaking with Palm Beach Atlantic University young alumnus, Justin Johansen, who works for consulting firm in Washington D.C. As Justin was sharing about his career success, along with asking for some career advice, I got a picture in my head.

It was of a library card that gave access to a room filled with books that contained all the knowledge and wisdom in the universe that one would ever need to solve any problem.

And you my friend have access to this library—the libraries of heaven.

In it contain your book of destiny and purpose. It houses books on financial prosperity. Building businesses. Garnering favor. Relationships. What is it you need wisdom and knowledge for? The book is there with the answers!

Think about it—your public or university library card allows you to check out books that provide you with information on almost any topic you want. But these libraries only give you access to the wisdom of man. But what if you had access to the Kingdom of Heaven? What if you had access to the books authored by the Divine Creator?

This blows my mind! The Creator of the Universe who spoke the word and planets, solar systems, and radiant stars mapping out constellations came into existence. The God who designed the craziest plants, and animals, and created complex systems like you and I. The author and perfecter of your faith has books written about you and every topic that you need access to. Divine intelligence is at your fingertips.

So as I am talking to Justin and seeing this image in my head, I realize this is a divine revelation. There is nothing wrong with going to the internet or a library to find information, but it is limited knowledge. The information in the sphere or realm we live in is limited to the wisdom of man. It is finite, BUT, there is a Heavenly library that we have access to that has books containing the wisdom and revelation of God—of infinite wisdom and Divine Intelligence!

There are books in heaven; lots and lots of books in heaven, on any topic you can imagine:

·      Want to know what your purpose or destiny is? it says that there is a book of life with your name written in it. So take your Divine Heavenly library card up to heaven and ask for your book of life that outlines your purpose and destiny. Bring it down and read from it. The book of life is referenced in these passages: Psalm 69:28, Philippians 4:3, Revelation 3:5, Revelation 13:8.

·      Need a plan or strategy to solve a problem? Not sure how to get that internship? Get the library card of heaven and check out the book where God lays out the strategy for you. Blueprints that have everything you need in order to navigate the days ahead. “To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue.” (Proverbs 16:1) David was given plans by The Spirit: “All this,” David said, “I have in writing as a result of the Lord’s hand on me, and he enabled me to understand all the details of the plan.” (1 Chronicles 28:18, but read all of chapter 28 for the full story.) In Genesis 30 Jacob wants to return to his homeland, but trickmeister Laban says, “oh no, as long as you are here making me money, you are going to stay.” Laban even tried to increase Jacob’s salary to convince him to stay. So, God gave Jacob a divine strategy to get out of the contract, and it worked! God has strategies for you too. In fact, God even reveals the plans of the enemy so that you can thwart them (Job 5:12, Psalm 33:10). In Genesis 41 we find out Egypt had a problem—famine! And Joseph had a plan. Where do you think he got that plan? From the library of heaven. And, guess who got to keep his job?

·      Are you in danger of being furloughed or laid off from your job? God already has a plan and next step set up for you—either to gain favor to stay or the next opportunity lined up for you. Look who else got to keep their jobs? Esther: her predecessor lost her life, and Esther learned by divine knowledge what would please the King. Out of all the concubines in the palace, she got the promotion. Nehemiah: was cupbearer to the King. He received divine favor and all the resources necessary (think money and zoning rights) for a massive construction project.

So whatever your worry or concern, go up to the library of heaven and grab the books you need.

There is divine intelligence from the one who has authored books and created the cosmos. According to Hebrews 12:2 we are to “fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.” If we have access to the libraries of heaven, why would we not go there to get what we need?

Imagine, if you will, going up the libraries of heaven and accessing the creative and innovative wisdom of God to find your purpose, gain favor at work, solve the business problem. The one who knows the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10) is waiting for you to come to His library. His divine intelligence is easily accessible to you and me. We just have to use what we've been given and so many of us don’t. This is part of your birthright as a child of God. So don't wait any longer. Whatever your problem is, whatever solutions you need, take that library card and go up to the libraries of heaven to get your answers.
