Strategies To Find An Average Job Slowly Won't Land A Great Job Fast

You think you're using strategies to find a great job fast ... but you're not.

You're probably using the strategies that worked in your last job search, in a much less competitive market, but can't figure out why this current search is moving slowly.

Or you're using advice from outplacement firms and most career coaches, who teach basic, average job search strategies, that aren't designed to accelerate your job search in a competitive job market.

Or you're relying on the advice of friends/mentors, who regurgitate the basic advice described above.

Or you've paid a professional resume writer, almost all who have been trained to create average resumes that look pretty.

But you don't realize that these resources teach you to undersell yourself, providing strategies that lead to finding an average job slowly.

Don't think you're using a slow/average job search strategy? Here are some examples ... how many are you using in your search?

  • Creating a confusing first impression in your resume and interviews of: "I've got a lot of stuff ... Do you need any of it?"
  • Spending little time customizing your resume for each individual opportunity, but spending a lot of time applying to jobs.
  • Customizing your resume based on the job description, or using tools like JobScan.
  • Focusing your resume and interviews on responsibilities & experience, which force your reader to guess if you were a success or failure, and make you look average to hiring managers.
  • Trying to appear qualified, when you compete against many other qualified candidates.
  • Applying online on job boards, career pages, Applicant Tracking Systems, or LinkedIn.
  • Networking after jobs have been internally posted, and wondering why it's not working.
  • Trying to contact employers through LinkedIn.
  • Landing the lowest quality interviews that employers assign, and wondering why you're not advancing in the hiring process.

These are all examples of the typical, "standard" resume/interview/job search strategies taught by almost all career resources, that lead to slow job searches for average jobs. And if you have difficult job search problems like being unemployed, age 40+, searching for a raise/promotion, remote positions, changing career/industry/location, have long term career gaps over 6 months, job search turnaround, returning from family leave, industry in decline or other difficult job search issues ... these strategies cause your job search to fail.

That's why I don't teach them.

Instead, I'll show you unique job search strategies designed to help you find a great job fast even in a competitive job market. Even if you have one or more of the difficult job search problems I listed above, I'll teach you how to overcome them, make them irrelevant to employers, so you speed up your search for a great job.

I help people solve the most difficult job search problems, including job search acceleration, getting past ATSs, ageism, remote positions, product/job function/career/industry/ geographic change, unemployment, "bouncy" recent career path, job search turnaround, seeking raise/promotion, industry in decline/consolidation, long term gaps, family leave, or other of the most challenging job search issues.
