Good morning my fellow veterans, As I am struggling through the transition, I started to see the steps I need to make it easier for me. For years, I have done this, but never put them in words. I hope my two cents will help others like me.

The transition is hard, but with strategic thinking, it gets better. There will never be the right time for strategic think. The only right time is the constant now. Now is the time to think and strategically implement and put the plan to work.

Step 1: Make time by turning off the noises around us. 

Step 2: Ponder, reflect, and write down plans and ideas.

Step 3: Brainstorm and talk through the ideas.

Step 4: Align required tasks with the ideas.

Step 5: Implement the ideas

Step 6: Evaluate the implementation and go back to Step 1.

Iteratively, this process will make the transition better over time.
