Strategic risk workshop for AFAC17

Strategic risk workshop for AFAC17

An all-day workshop on strategic risk ownership for emergency managers will lead the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC component of the post conference development program at #AFAC17, in Sydney next week.

Victoria University based CRC researchers, Celeste Young and Roger Jones, will walk participants through a risk ownership framework for emergency management policy and practice, drawing on their CRC project research into Mapping and Understanding Natural Hazard Vulnerability and Risk. Using several case studies they will show how the framework can be applied under different circumstances.

The AFAC17 post conference professional development program in on Thursday 8 September at the International Convention Centre in Sydney.

Following the CRC Research Forum on 5 September, and the two day main conference (6-7 September), the professional development program has 11 options, including two field trips.

Other forums and workshops include a Safety Symposium, a disaster education forum for teachers, and a workshop on the National Burning Program.

For more information see the full list for the AFAC17 Post Conference Professional Development Program.
