Strategic Plan: What happens when you ignore the rules?

Every seat on the flight from Israel to San Francisco is taken. 

The plane taxis and begins the ascent to cruising altitude. We hit some bumps along the way.

Then the unexpected happens. The plane vertically drops.

10, 20 or 100ft? 

My bottom left the seat. The only thing preventing me from hitting the ceiling is my fastened seat belt.

The plane recovers in a matter of seconds.

Then the attendant asks for the help of a medical doctor, nurse or EMT. 

Apparently the plane clips the top of a cloud. But I've flown through clouds before. It was never like this.

During the remainder of the 15 hour flight everyone complied when the seat belt light turned on. 

Your business follows a similar course. You create a flight plan. Some parts are smooth. And unexpected weather causes you to alter your route or course correct.
