We are at the best time to start with the construction of our Strategic Plan 2025. Coming to the last 4 months of the year, some Organizations begin with the planning of the year to come, in this cycle the main objectives and strategies of volume, finances, costs, market share, innovation, and human resources, are determined. which will allow the organization to have the capacity to support its future growth or sustainability over time.

The general management works from the beginning on the strategic document that will later be transferred to the different areas so that they determine the main focalizations on which they should concentrate. From the beginning, this plan has been accompanied by a financial statement where it is delimited what each structure will have to invest - spend.

? First, each Director must convert these targets into a series of initiatives with details of their installation, the resources to be used, and who will participate in their execution. All the above must be budgeted and scheduled month by month in a financial report.

? Second, is the ability of programming to balance the authorized resources against the total cost of the initiatives.

Throughout the planning cycle, the areas are obliged to coordinate so as not to repeat initiatives or contradict each other. The same coordination will readjust certain details of the budget, remember that in the end, everything will have to fit.

These budgets are closed in December with the official delivery of the plans by the different operating structures. After the exercise, the finance area has the responsibility of making the last reviews and uploading the official budget.

7 Recommendations to turn wishes into successful Planning:

  1. Diagnose before starting: The initiatives are derived from real opportunities that we have detected. Do not work or schedule initiatives that arise from opinions, judgments, gossip, or beliefs. This is the best time to abandon simplistic and amorphous solutions that are rather good wishes, take out your strategic side.
  2. Generate High Effectiveness initiatives: Take the time to look for highly effective initiatives, don't get lost in the details, and come up with solid proposals that impact the 80-20 formula.
  3. Put your money on what is worthwhile, remember that resources are scarce and difficult to come by. The risks of cuts in the budget are always present. The cuts will surely continue as the year starts, hence the importance of generating only winning initiatives.
  4. Assign the necessary resources to each initiative: Request budgets, detail them as far as possible, and remember that, if you do not fund the initiative well, you will have to go out and look for additional resources and I assure you that will be complicated and will also give evidence of your mismanagement.
  5. Add Initiatives in the Financial Statement: Another very important recommendation is to load all your initiatives in the financial statement. What is not printed in the financial statement will be very difficult to carry out.
  6. Enable the highest value initiatives in the first quarter of the year: This will allow you to have more operational months for productivity. If you can advance something before the close of the current year, do it, The more prepared January starts, then, you will have the opportunity for more months of implementation.
  7. Close your Strategic Plan by presenting it to your team and your clients: Every initiative must be supported by the team of collaborators who report to you, remember that they will be an essential part of the implementation. On the other hand, extend this presentation to your clients, they will be part of the execution and are the ones who will receive the benefits in the end. If they disagree with the strategy, then rework as necessary to reach an agreement. Your client must accompany and support you.
