On the evening of January 25, 2025, at Kilimani, Nairobi, RentCo Africa’s leadership joined esteemed partners at a special New Year dinner hosted by the Executive Director of Sinopec. This event marked a significant milestone in Kenya’s energy sector—the successful commencement of the 58.42MW Net Wellhead Geothermal Power Project, a groundbreaking initiative in collaboration with @KenGen, Sinopec, Pozzitif Enerji, Toshiba, and Exergy.

Mr. Robert Nyasimi - RentCo Africa’s CEO, Mr. Julius Motaroki Nyakerario - Group Chief Operations Officer & Country Head - Kenya, Ms. Margaret Mucheru Group Legal Director, and Moses Rotich - Project Manager - Geothermal Energy were among the key attendees, reinforcing the company’s dedication to shaping Kenya’s energy future.
In his address, RentCo Africa’s CEO, Mr. Robert Nyasimi, expressed gratitude to Sinopec for hosting the event and underscored the significance of this joint venture in advancing Kenya’s renewable energy goals.
A Transformative Geothermal Energy Project
This landmark geothermal project represents a major step forward in Kenya’s energy transition. Under a 15-year Multi-million dollar Build, Lease, Operate, and Maintain (BLOM) agreement, RentCo Africa is leading the way as the Owner, Investor, and Lessor, overseeing the development, financing, construction, and operation of this state-of-the-art wellhead power plant.
