It’s early morning, you’ve just woken and you check your phone (and keep swearing you’re going to stop doing that).
There’s a new notification that makes you want to crawl back into bed: “AI Takes Over Industry, Slashing Costs and Doubling Efficiency.”
A competitor has advanced, thanks to AI. Your team is anxious, and your board is starting to panic.?
It may sound a bit over the top (what can I say I like to keep things interesting), but the truth is this isn’t some distant, futuristic scenario—it’s starting to happen right now.
If you’re not adapting, you’re falling behind. The real question is, what will you do today to make sure you don’t stay there??
Assessing Your AI Readiness: How Vulnerable Are You??
Ask yourself, are you prepared for the impact of AI??
Here’s a quick self-check:
1. Task Automation: How many tasks in your job can be automated by AI?
2. Data Dependency: How much of your decision-making relies on data that AI could handle?
3. Complex Decisions: Are the decisions you make based on complex human judgment? (Score lower here if that’s true.)
4. Creativity: How much of your role depends on original, creative thinking? (Again, score lower if AI can’t easily replicate this.)
5. Emotional Intelligence: Does your job require reading people and managing emotions?
(finally, something that can improve your score :)
Add up your scores. If your total is low, it’s time to rethink your strategy. If it’s high, you’re in a better position, but best not to get too comfortable.
Now the tricky part, creating a plan to close the gap between where you are and where you need to be.?
The Human Edge: What AI Still Can’t Do (Yet)
While AI is incredibly powerful, there are still areas where humans outperform:
1. Adapting to Change: Quickly adjust your strategy when things don’t go as planned.
2. Ethical Judgment: Navigating decisions that involve moral choices.
3. Creative Thinking: Coming up with truly original ideas.
Focus on these strengths and others in high-stakes scenarios.
Focus on things that AI can’t, like innovative solutions or ethical perspectives, while also leveraging in the areas where it can provide an advantage?
What unique human insight can you bring to your next major decision that no AI could replicate?
Threat or Opportunity?
If you’ve previously seen AI as a threat, it's time to rethink it (at least a little bit). Imagine a healthcare system bogged down by high costs and long patient wait times. By embracing AI, doctor’s offices could provide much-needed improvements to the patient experience streamlining operations, and improving care, and outcomes. AI doesn’t have to replace the human touch, it can enhance it.?
Here’s your 90-day plan to get ahead with AI:
·????? Day 30: Identify the top 3 areas in your work where AI can have the most impact.
领英推荐
·????? Day 60: Launch a pilot project in the area with the highest potential.
·????? Day 90: Review the results and develop an AI strategy for your organization.?
What’s stopping you from starting today??
Ethical AI Leadership: Protecting Your Business and Your Brand
As AI becomes more commonplace, ethical considerations are growing.
How well does your business protect data, avoid bias, and ensure transparency?
?Ask yourself:
1. Privacy: Are you safeguarding customer data effectively?
2. Bias: Is your AI free from unfair biases?
3. Transparency: Can you explain how AI decisions are made?
4. Human Oversight: Do you have people regularly checking AI outputs?
5. Long-Term Impact: Are you considering the broader societal effects of AI??
Companies that lead ethically and with intention, will build greater trust and gain a competitive edge.?
Consider how you can use ethical AI leadership in your business.?
Future-Proofing Your Career: Becoming a Human-AI Hybrid
The future isn’t just about AI taking over jobs—it’s about creating new roles where humans and AI work together. Consider roles like AI Ethicist or Human-AI Collaboration Specialist.?
Here’s how to position yourself for these hybrid roles:
1. Identify Your Strengths: What can you do that AI can’t?
2. Match with AI: How can you combine those strengths with AI capabilities?
3. Target New Roles: Look for jobs that need both human and AI skills.
Which new role could be the perfect fit for you, given your strengths and the growing influence of AI?
The AI Leader’s Manifesto?
In the AI age, standing still is the most dangerous move.?
Consider where you want to be a year from now, will you be leading the AI transformation in your company, or racing to catch up?
The choice is yours, don’t get left behind the time to act is now.
