Strategic Interconnections and Future Outlook
HYCAP’s portfolio companies continue to make significant strides in the energy transition, translating ambitious net-zero goals into tangible realities.?HYCAP is investing globally across Private Equity, Technology, and Infrastructure.?
This update highlights recent developments and HYCAP’s role in accelerating the shift towards a sustainable future across multiple sectors.
Transforming Road Transport
Wrightbus?maintains its leadership in zero-emission public transport, outpacing all European manufacturers in zero-emission bus registrations in Q1. As the fastest-growing bus maker in Europe, their expansion drives economic growth, creates green jobs at their Ballymena and Bicester sites, and supports a UK supply chain across 47 counties.
In a landmark deal, Wrightbus has signed a contract with The Go-Ahead Group to supply over 1,000 zero-emission buses over the next three years — its largest order to date. This deal will not only accelerate the transition to cleaner public transport across the UK but also secure 500 jobs and support an additional 1,500 across the wider supply chain.
Wrightbus is also enhancing its support services through?AllServiceOne, a comprehensive aftermarket solution that offers maintenance, parts, and training to maximise fleet uptime and efficiency. This end-to-end service ensures operators can maintain the optimal performance of their zero-emission fleets, further encouraging the transition to cleaner public transport. Additionally, NewPower UK is accelerating fleet decarbonisation by providing operators with faster, more affordable pathways to adopt clean transport solutions.
Complementing this progress,?Ryze, who specialises in numerous low-carbon power solutions, is establishing crucial hydrogen supply and infrastructure for their customers and partners. They are supplying hydrogen for FCEV (Hydrogen) fleet trials with Vauxhall Motors in Birmingham & Solihull, utilising their filling station at Tyseley Energy Park. Ryze’s collaboration with ZeroAvia is advancing hydrogen-powered aviation, with Ryze supplying hydrogen for engine and flight testing at Cotswold Airport. Their partnerships extend to supporting Scania’s development of hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks, showcasing hydrogen’s versatility across various transport modes. Additionally, Ryze has secured a long-term hydrogen supply agreement with Glass Futures, demonstrating hydrogen’s potential in decarbonising heavy industry, particularly glass manufacturing.
Zeti, our fintech innovator, secured £5 million in Series A funding from us here at HYCAP Group. With 4,500 vehicles already utilising their Zeti Hub digital platform, their Transport as a Service (TaaS) solutions are making clean transport adoption more accessible and cost-effective for businesses of all sizes.
Scaling Clean Energy Production
In the clean energy sector,?Yamna’s project in Oman, with consortium partners J-Power and EDF, represents a significant leap forward. The planned 4.5 GW of wind and solar capacity and 2.5 GW electrolyser for hydrogen production will support their landmark 1 million tonnes per year green ammonia project, positioning Oman as a pioneer in renewable hydrogen and illustrating the future of energy exports.
Domestically,?Hygen Energy’s significant hydrogen project in the Bradford region exemplifies effective stakeholder engagement. Their recent introduction event garnered strong support from politicians, local authorities and business leaders, uniting stakeholders to reimagine regional energy systems and establish a viable hydrogen economy. The project forms part of a broader plan for developing a network of hydrogen production plants.

Great update HYCAP - investing in decarbonisation across a diverse range of sectors
At Ryze, our work across multiple low-carbon power solutions gives us a unique perspective on the energy transition. While our hydrogen partnerships from ZeroAvia's aviation advances to Glass Futures' industrial applications showcase hydrogen's versatility, they're just one part of our broader commitment to practical decarbonisation. What's particularly exciting is seeing how different clean technologies complement each other, creating resilient energy solutions that can be tailored to specific needs. The Vauxhall Motors Ltd fleet trials in Birmingham & Solihull demonstrate this perfectly - they're not just proving grounds for hydrogen, but part of a wider conversation about choosing the right clean technology for each application. As HYCAP's portfolio shows, successful decarbonisation isn't about backing a single solution - it's about developing an ecosystem of options that work together. By staying technology-agnostic and focusing on real-world implementation, we're helping organisations find their optimal path to net-zero.
Fantastic update, inspiring. #decarbonisation
