Notes:
To identify the knowledge and abilities needed for the industry, technology, and function of the job or position being examined, it is most appropriate for many jobs and roles to employ this standard competency with customized Key Knowledge Areas (rather than key actions). (See below for Sample Key Knowledge Areas.)
By using the competency identification procedure (job analysis), these areas ought to be identified.
In order to give more accurate descriptions of knowledge and skill areas, more technically sophisticated tasks or positions may require a number of distinct, specialized Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills abilities.
In contrast to:
Continuous Learning and Applied Learning. The goal of these competencies is knowledge acquisition.
Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills also include this concentration. Use Applied Learning and Continuous Learning in conjunction with Technical and Professional Knowledge and abilities only in cases where knowledge acquisition goals surpass technical and professional knowledge and abilities.

A quantitative skill is tenacity. Rather than the caliber of tries, what matters is the quantity of attempts made to accomplish an objective.
