Strapping Machines - an overview
Strapping Machines can generally be divided into two categories: machines to strap individual packs, and machines to strap palletized goods (#Pallet #Strappers). These machines can apply either a vertical or a horizontal strap around a pack or pallet. In some cases, packs or pallets need to be strapped vertically as well as horizontally.
Machines to strap individual packs are available in semi-automatic, automatic or automated versions. They generally run #Polypropylene #strap from 5mm to 12mm.
Semi-Automatics are stand-alone machines and the operator feeds the strap manually around the pack and into the machine. As the strap is inserted back into the machine, a start switch is operated and the pack is then strapped. In the case of #Automatic #strapping #machines, the package is placed inside an arch by the machine operator who starts the strapping cycle by pushing a button or depressing a foot pedal. The strap is then fed around the arch and applied to the pack automatically.
With Automated machines the pack is indexed into the arch by a conveyor system and the strapping cycle is activated once a photocell has been activated. #Pallet #Strapping #machines (which can be stand-alone machines or integrated into a packaging line), feed the strap around an arch and apply it to the pack automatically. They generally run Polypropylene strap (PP) from 5mm to 12mm or #Polyester #Strap (PET) from 9mm to 19mm. Pallets are often strapped vertically through the pallet void using an automated lance which penetrates the pallet void thus securing the product to the pallet.
