1.FACTUAL DIPLOMACY b/w PAKISTAN & UK. As per the viral NEWS, on 20 October 2020 a flight carrying deportees from the UK was not given clearance to land in Pakistan by the GoP, consequently the UK authorities were left with no choice but to return the deportees to detention centers in the UK. No doubt the UK government has been returning illegal immigrants to Pakistan under the EU Readmission Agreement (Eura). The agreement was signed during the last PPP Government and further strengthened during the last PMLN regime .This agreement may not be valid during transit period before BREXIT finalizes (by 31 December 2020).

2. In a report on 6 November 2020 Britain’s most circulated tabloid newspaper, The Sun, has published a story based on exclusive revelations by the News, stating that Pakistan rejected a deportation flight carrying around three dozen illegal immigrants from London to Islamabad amid a diplomatic row over former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif extradition. The News published this report after credible intelligence sources from both sides stating that in early November Prime Minister Imran Khan’s adviser on accountability Shahzad Akbar cancelled a London-Islamabad-bound flight to demand deportation of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from London to Pakistan. The Sun on 15 December 2020 published another report quoting the Home Office sources, confirming two findings by The News in November: That there were diplomatic tensions in relations between the two countries after a “duty bound” demand of the British Home Secretary and the cancellation of the flight from London to Pakistan. The Sun, further confirmed both facts published originally by The News widely circulated on social media by both the PTI government &PML-N circles – that the flight cancellation cost the UK around £300,000 (false & fake).

3. At the time of the publication of the story originally in The News, Shahzad Akbar had confirmed that the flight was not given clearance but strongly denied that the cancellation of the flight was linked to the Nawaz Sharif issue. Shazad Akbar had claimed that flights carrying deportees would be allowed “after confirmation of documentations and following due protocols”. He added: “We are seeking the deportation of Mian Nawaz Sharif on principle but it is not linked to any other bilateral issue between the two countries. Later on 16 December 20 a chartered flight again reached Islamabad nearly two months after it was refused permission to land at the last minute by the Pakistan government on October 20.

4. Worthy readers before concluding the impact of such an incident on UK & Pakistan diplomatic relations in future , we would like to put you at ease by narrating an unbelievable /miserable incident of offloading a Pakistani family from Karachi bound Emirates Flight A-380 during summers 2014 at Heathrow Airport, minutes before take-off. Let us suppose the name of the Pakistani passenger was Mr. Calpol, so as to streamline the narrative in its true perspective. As you may be aware Heathrow is the second busiest Airport in the world & It is one of six international airports serving the London region (located 24 KM west of Central London). Needless to say that London is a vibrant culture/emblem sophisticated society. London is pure magic. One of the world's most visited cities, London has something for everyone: from history and culture to fine food and exceedingly good times. With such diversity London's cultural dynamism makes it among the world's most international cities. You cannot expect violation of Human Right or social insecurity of visitors over Heathrow Airport?

5. MISERY OF MR. CALPOL A POOR PAKISTANI Mr. Calpol along with his wife.& 3 minors was on visit to his close relatives at Central London. After expiry of his leave on way back to Pakistan during summers 2014,he happens to board A380 flight from Heathrow Airport bounded to Karachi Pakistan. Just before starting the journey his youngest daughter (aging 1 year ) felt mild flue but had no signs of uneasiness. Unfortunately in a hurry the couple forgot to buy Syrup Calpol from the market so as to travel tension free. After being checked in for the flight the normal boarding started & the passengers got seated in the aircraft. Mr Calpol and family too were made comfortable in the Aircraft. The doors were shut& locked, the aircraft started taxying towards the runaway for taking off. Meanwhile, Mrs. Calpol requested the airhostess if she could give her a pack of Syrup Calpol for the minor….No sooner she said so, the aircraft crew started showing signs of unprecedented anxiety, fear &panic. Anyway the staff gave Panadol Syrup’s first dose to the child. Slightly later while the airplane was at the takeoff end of the runway, the pilot came on air and announced that he is going back to the apron/terminal to offload some sick passenger taken on board….Hearing that Mr Calpol family was taken aback & their confusion made the things further chaotic. To pacify Mr. Calpol he was enabled to speak to Airport Manager for the assistance, the manager somewhat persuaded Mr. Calpol by saying that it was the Emirates Airline Policy & things would go by the Pilot final decision. Shortly after the five Pakistani passengers of a Karachi bound Emirates flight were offloaded at the Heathrow Airport in London in sheer helplessness. Two ER (emergency room) ambulances already stationed outside the aircraft were sounding alarm loudly as if heaven has fallen .Amid that clamor all five passengers were seated in the Ambulances……

6. Here another fiasco pertaining to the passenger baggage occurred….realistically there was hardly any hope to get the baggage back soon…in the meantime Mr. Calpol repeatedly requested Emirates Airlines authorities /higher-ups & the Station /Airport Manager to let his family be boarded again after necessary first aid and requisite procedures. But to no avail everyone was adamant to follow Pilot final verdict……the panic grew further unbearable….after 4 hours without having any doctors fetched to the so-called sick child in the Airport premises, the family was handed over the baggage …Mr. Calpol kept requesting all concerned again and again to help him out ….after another hour the Pilot reluctantly agreed to take Mr. Calpol family back on board in case he renders a fitness certificate to travel to Pakistan, obtained either from airport authorities or London hospitals. Meanwhile the family was taken to closet ER Center for the needful. …the turmoil grew further stern when the duty staff at the hospital refused to give any fitness certificate to Mr. Calpol over the plea that the certificate will only be given by a GP (General Practitioner)….the flight departed thereafter and the family was brought to the nearby Hotel at 4 a.m. for the 14 hours stay at the expense of Emirates Airlines…..Mr, Calpol though had travel insurance yet he felt very lonely and helpless in London?

7.  In the meantime there starts another ordeal of getting a fitness certificate from a GP Doctor for the next flight to Pakistan. It appeared as if entire London has gone crazy or fallen in deep slumber. After 6 hours at 10 a.m. the family again went for the search of a GP. While being in the utter dismay they happen to meet a Pakistani Taxi Driver in the Airport vicinity who asked them the real cause of their despair… after having heard Mr.Calpol the driver with tearful eyes said in Punjabi “Gal hi koi nayi, dil na chaddo aao chalye ” meaning thereby please do not be disappointed lets hurry to the GP Clinic….. What a luck the GP Doctor was a bold Pakistani origin guy, who sorted out the things very well….he mailed the fitness certificate to about all concerned quarters. …….later Mr. Calpol got the ticket booked again and the family was taken on board on next flight to Karachi……….here we would like to mention that the child had no symptoms of running nose or fever, she was very joyful, alert and 99% unable to cause /spread any infection in the aircraft….yet the stubborn pilot/airline staff showed tantrum and the ground staff too were found apathetic and looked totally aliens & highly non-cooperative.

8.  Dear readers an airline can deny boarding of any passenger who looks unwell, especially if they suspect the passenger might be contagious. If you look like you may be sick, the airline may not let you get on the plane. Important: If you're sick, check with your airline to see what options you have for rescheduling your flight. Each airline has its own policy about rescheduling flights because of an illness or emergency. Leaving that aside what matters is Mr. Calpol learnt a bitter lesson. He now advises all not to disclose minor issues of health till you are air borne or taken off the airport (may not be advisable)?

9. Conclusion UK-Pakistan Diplomacy. One is amazed at Mr. Calpol plight at Heathrow Airport & most of us might feel concerned too. What is not understood is ,as to why there is doom’s day scenario painted on Pakistan refusing UK flight to land in Islamabad so as to guard against spread of Corona in Pakistan. No doubt … our Govt. has taken an appropriate stand at the right time even if it is for getting Nawaz Sharif back to Pakistan. Why to be ashamed& pessimistic, head up and smile. We sincerely dislike almost all absconders unduly sheltering/harboring by the UK Govt. and strongly hope that her majesty the Queen & UK PM Boris Jonson being close friend of Imran Khan would not disappoint contentious people all over the globe in their wish to repel Corruption /Money Laundering by the power tycoons/political dictators?

10. As per the facts and figures Nawaz Sharif viza is about to expire, his passport needs renewal, His medical treatment is incomplete (overstaying in UK), with the status of absconder &corrupt politician who has not applied for political asylum in Britain yet. On the contrary most of the elite in UK think that Nawaz stay is illegal, in case he is not extradited it may cause diplomatic row between UK & Pakistan in future which would rouse lot of distrust for UK Govt. (since UK is out of EU now). Likewise there are lot of rumours about Nawaz future destination whether it is UK/KSA/Qatar/Korea etc, etc. No doubt there is lot of score settling pending at Govt of Pakistan end too? We foresee a settlement over some quasi plea bargain between Nawz Sharif &NAB in case Nawaz Sharif is alive to absorb the shock of his failure by then?
