Decades later I watch Star Trek Strange New Worlds.

The characters are modernized and the scenes are brighter and more colorful.

The thing that hasn't changed is exploring and facing unknown challenges often having to figure out how to simply survive.

The utopia still nags at me as it's not possible.

In the early morning, Neo and I took a long walk with him at my side learning to heel as he took in all the new sites.

We discovered other people that he couldn't decide were friendly and he was scared of the other dogs barking behind fences.

It wasn't utopia for him, but we were doing our best and trying to get better.
