Stranded on an Island - What do you bring?
Expressive Art - Island Adventure

Stranded on an Island - What do you bring?

Imagine being stranded on a deserted island. What would you bring if you had only one choice?

?

We embarked on a creative challenge - each participant could choose only one item to bring to an island. The twist? The island had nothing but a volcano. This scenario wasn't just about survival; it was about understanding our priorities, desires, and the innovative use of simple tools.

?

Participants brought their imagination to life through their suggestions, drawing diverse items like multi-functional tools, tents for protection, seeds for sustainability, and even a ukulele for entertainment. Each choice unveiled a layer of their personality, survival instincts, and creative thinking.

As we delved into this exercise, the results were fascinating. From practical items like a Swiss Army knife to more whimsical choices like musical instruments and candy, each selection told a unique story. Some prioritized survival and practicality, while others leaned towards comfort, joy, and the sustenance of spirit.

This session was not just about the art created but also about reflecting on our choices. What do these preferences say about us? How do we balance practical needs with the nourishment of our hearts and minds, especially in challenging situations?

?

I invite you to watch the session on click my picture below and reflect on what you would bring to this imaginary island. Let's continue the conversation in the comments below! What does your choice reveal about your survival strategy or creative outlook?

Hi Janet Domenack MEd., RTC ... I love my creature comforts. But I would cope with a notebook and a pen and 1 THICK book to read!
