The Straight8 competition is for individuals or groups of filmmakers to compete for a place at our Cannes film festival premiere. 

You have to shoot the whole film on one reel, no editing and you have to put the music with it, essentially blind. If you do well, the first time you will see your finished product is on the big screen at Cannes film festival! 

This year, we worked with Ecstasy of Gold on a short film about two people who found each other on a dating app. Simple and clean layered with rhetoric and subtext, innuendoes and emotion.
