Storytime: How I Presented Intershop Copilot at the Microsoft Discovery Day

At Intershop, innovation thrives through two key principles: embracing a culture that learns from mistakes and investing in new talents who we trust. Take Moritz Wildenhain , for example—he's currently working on his master's thesis with us and played a significant role in developing Intershop Copilot, our latest technology.

微软 , our technology partner and collaborator in creating Intershop Copilot, invited Moritz to one of their Discovery Days. Here's how it went:

"I had an exciting opportunity to participate in Microsoft's Discovery Day: Differentiating with Intelligent Apps recently. This was a big moment for me, as it was not only my first business trip but also the first time meeting our Partner Technology Strategist, Bernd Mayer , face-to-face.

The day kicked off with a quick and tasty lunch of freshly made pizza, followed by a tour of Microsoft's impressive office space. Then, it was time to buckle down in a meeting room for some last-minute prep before the presentation.

Microsoft invited us to present Intershop Copilot, a project we developed together. The idea was to give attendees a real-life example of what's possible. I started the presentation by talking about how quickly AI has become a key topic for us at Intershop and for our partners and customers. Everyone is curious about how Large Language Models (LLMs) can be used to create practical applications.

Intershop Copilot, which I showcased during the presentation, is exactly such an application - a powerful assistant for e-commerce managers. It's not just about gathering business insights; this tool can actively make changes in the shop based on user input. I gave a live demo of Copilot, and it went like a charm, demonstrating its practicality and efficiency in real-time.

I wrapped up the presentation by discussing the challenges and opportunities we see in the next few months. The event was about showing what can be achieved with Microsoft as a partner to a variety of professionals like CEOs, technical managers, software engineers, and salespeople. But for me, the most important part was showcasing the innovative AI products we're developing at Intershop and getting some feedback.

Since it was the last event of the day, we had a chance for a small get-together, which was great for discussing use cases and ideas before I headed back to Jena.

Looking back, a lot has happened since I created the first proof of concept (POC) for Intershop Copilot. It's an exciting time, and I'm really looking forward to the next few months. We've got tons of ideas and are working hard to turn them into great products."
