This Women's History Month celebration continues with more Storytelling for?#DEIB at LIGHTHOUSE .
The first step to mainstreaming women's narratives into workplace culture and team bonding is to integrate Storytelling as an essential strategy.
For the organisations of the 21st century:
It is easier to frame or paint the organisation's values on the walls of the corporate office.
But to build organisation culture, we need those words to run through the corridors and veins of our everyday practices.
When you tell your organisation's story, you make sense and add meaning to their lived experiences and percolate a value chain among your people.
That goes beyond duty and brings passion to work.
And you gain loyalty, commitment and trust.
And an edge: the human edge.
At Lighthouse, we did this with a powerful Storytelling session: Stories that make us, us.
It was my pleasure to run the IWD program for 50 working women professionals at different stages of their work careers and at different phases of their lives, at Liberty General Insurance .

For the women professionals & leaders:
Stories are self-fulfilling prophecies.
Our stories can light up our career path down the years, and string through our journey, aspiration and destination with clarity and confidence.
The Hero's journey is deep, but the heroine's journey is far deeper.

At Lighthouse, we did this with a 2 months' Storytelling program: The World program for Women.
Storytelling as a core DEIB Strategy:
As a futuristic organisation of the 21st century, we cannot wrap up our DEIB efforts anymore with cakes and balloons on 8th of March, and an occasional one-hour-long POSH session around the year teaching men how not to offend female colleagues by crossing over gender boundaries.
The time is ripe to cultivate the beauty of gender diversity.
We need to discover, cultivate and shine a light on the empowering and optimistic narratives that run through our everyday workplace experiences.
Telling and listening to stories of our life gives us trust in each other, helps us know each other's likings and boundaries, and bridges our hearts for meaningful engagement and community at work.
It is time for you as a leader to explore the gender culture in your teamwork, build upon the beauty of diversity, and empower the voice of your people with the power of Storytelling.
Get started.
