Three years ago, I was in the process on publishing my very first book. Ever since I was twelve years old I had been obsessed by everything that had to with spirituality. I learned so much in these seven years that I felt like sharing it with the world by writing about my life. In the book, I incorporated a story that I told myself to feel better about the divorce of my parents and many other difficult things in life. In this article, I'm sharing it with you.
Four souls are waiting for the bus at the bus station. It's the bus that will directly bring them to earth. In a few minutes the bus will arrive. It will be the beginning of a new journey. Everything that the four souls have been waiting for will be set in motion from that moment on. You can read the tension on their faces. The youngest soul bites its lip.
One of the oldest souls breaks the silent tension by asking the other souls what they will be doing when they're finally on earth. He wants to know about their goals, their dreams, and why they want to come to earth in the first place. He has done it before and knows that it can be an intense journey. The three other souls are happy that this soul took the initiative to break the silence.
"I want to learn what it is like to be brave," says the youngest soul.
Her hidden enthusiasm for the journey can be seen because of the laugh that appears on her face.
"I want to learn what it is like to love myself and accept myself for who I am," says the second soul.
"I want to experience what it is like to die at a young age," the third soul adds. "How about yourself?" the soul asks, looking at the oldest soul. "Why are you coming to earth this time?"
"Sweethearts, I have experienced so much on earth already. I have lived many lives and learned many lessons. That is why I have decided to give myself an extra challenging time on earth this time.
I want to learn forgiveness. I want to experience a 10/10 experience of what it is like forgive someone. I want to experience something which might seem unforgivable and find the beauty in it. I am ready for it."
The other souls look at the oldest soul, their appreciation is shown in their eyes. What a beautiful purpose, they think. And how brave to give yourself a life-mission like that!
"How will you give yourself this experience?" the second soul asks shocked.
She can't believe that the soul that's waiting for the bus at the same time as she is, is waiting for such an unforgettable adventure. She is so proud of her fellow traveler.
"That's a beautiful question," the oldest soul answers, "and I have had a long time to think about it.
The only way to have an experience like that is to put myself in a situation on earth which seems unforgivable. Someone has to do something to me that I will not be able to forgive him or her for, possible for years. I won't experience any sign of peace or calmness for over a decade." the oldest soul explains.
"Do you know what that experience will be?"
"It will happen to me when driving in my car. It is late at night and me and my wife and beautiful daughter just come back from a long and sunny day on the beach. I put my hand on my wife's leg and see how my daughter is sleeping peacefully when looking in the back mirror. She's holding her teddy and I smile. The sun is setting and it creates a beautiful glow on my wife's face. I love her with all of my soul.
Suddenly a car appears from my right. It is driving way too fast and I can see that the driver is holding a bottle of whiskey in one of his hands. With a loud bang our cars crash into each other. The only thing I can do is scream. All of my disbelief, anger, and fear is depicted in that single scream. Me and the drunk driver survive. My wife and daughter will not.

Years will pass and I won't be able to forgive the man who murdered my family. After a long time, I will realize that the anger is only hurting me. To learn my lesson I have to use all my strength to forgive the driver. I will realize it is not about forgiving the action, but about forgiving the soul behind the action."
"What a brave plan," the first soul says with her eyes wide open, "it requires a lot of guts to do something like that!"
"Thank you," the old soul says while his cheeks blush, "I just need to find a soul who is willing to sit in the car with me. Would you like to help me with my lesson?"
The three souls look down to the ground. They are afraid. A loud silence rises.
After a moment that felt like an eternity, the third soul raises her head bravely and says:
"My lesson is about experiencing what it is like to die young. I would like to be your daughter in this life. This way we can help each other to learn our lesson."
The oldest soul jumps up from happiness and gives the third soul a big hug. They both experience so much joy knowing they'll be able to help each other throughout their journey on earth.
The first soul notices the joy and decides to speak up:
"Because I love you so much, and because I would love to see you succeed in your lesson, I would love to be your wife in this lifetime. A lot of courage is required to step into a life like this and so it will help me learn my lesson too."
The oldest soul's eyes start to tear up from joy. While waiting for the bus, he found the perfect souls to join his family on earth.
"I can see how important this is for you." the second soul says, after not speaking for a long time. "This is one of the hardest decisions I have ever made, but I would love to be the drunk driver that robs you from your family."
The other souls break their hug and look shocked.
"Why would you want to do something like that" the oldest soul asks calmly.
"My lesson is to accept myself and learn self-love. I think that this is an ideal life to learn that lesson. I think it's horrible that I will hurt you so much in the life that's waiting for us, but I am doing this because I love you. I love you so, so much that I am willing to step into a life like this for you to learn your lesson. I would love to be part of your expansion as a soul, and if this is the way I can help you out with that, I will do that with all the love I am."
Let me know how the story resonates with you.
