Millions of blog posts, videos, and tweets are published by the users on the Internet. Creating high-quality content is not an easy task. You need to research the topic, gather the facts, and pen down the content in such a way that the content is interesting and worth reading. However, with all the hours you spent in making content compelling enough to get it listed in the Search engines, you cannot make it Viral.

The Viral posts are generally those posts that have the essence of storytelling. The content which is made with the hint to story in it is more liked and read by people. Many brands have used the method and successfully created viral posts and videos for their brands.

Many brands also initiate a conversation or latch on to some incident for selling the products. However, these conversations die with time and are not bulletproof. On the other hand, the master of storytelling is something that people connect to. We have many examples where Viral posts and ads are a perfect example of storytelling which connects with the people in general.

Human interest- Since the storytelling is more related to people in general, the human interest is developed with the content. People tend to recognize the story and get connect with it.

Compelling- The compelling story helps people to read the entire content to the end. Which also increases the reader's engagement in the post.

Readers want the revelation- With the compelling story, readers want to know the implication and sequels of the content. It will increase the user's interest in your content, blog, products, or services.

Since you have understood that the use of storytelling for making a good and viral post is essential, now is the time that we tell you how to make a compelling story for the content. The concept of storytelling is not unique, many companies and brands are probably doing it already. But for making a successful content or ads, you need to find a way to touch people’s heart. Storytelling does not mean that you need to latch upon other people’s stories. You just need to narrate your story nicely.

We all have seen Amul girl in India. She is an icon and used by the Amul for making descriptive puns about the current topics prevailing in India. Amul has used the girl icon for many pun ads and content like during the successful launch of Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) and during Mr. Barack Obama’s visit to India. It was compelling for people to see and make it popular since the descriptive were current topics, about people in general and have a story behind to tell.

Evoking Emotions with Storytelling

We all have seen the ads Me and Meri Maggie. The ads were created in a way that all the users and consumers were compelled to post their pics and write about their experience about Maggie and about the company they had over the bowl pf, Maggie. These strategies have evoked the emotions in the people, and they buy products without having second doubts.

The content which evokes strong emotions in the audience is repeatedly seen and shared by the people. If you have some content like this which will compel your readers to share with family and friends. This makes a good Viral post.

Storytelling is Art and Science

The art of storytelling does not have a specific set of rules and regulations. Too much distribution can cause a reader to block you, and too little of the distribution can make your post go stale. Expert content creators say “if the content is King than Distribution of Content is Queen’.

For making content go viral you need to understand the trends and topics that people love to watch and read. You might not want your users to get bad news in the morning or keep them in dark with stale news headlines. You need to make a balance between both, to keep your readers engaged and get informed content about the topic.
