A paper published in the American Journal of Public Health by Dr. Nobel and Dr. Stuckey titled "The Connection Between the Art, Healing, and Public Health" explores the evidence of how art-based interventions are effective in reducing adverse physiological and psychological outcomes. While the extent of this evidence might still require further studies, it has had a profound impact on my life. After my son was born (he is 19 now), I experienced a mini-stroke, and I had heard about art therapy helping people with their physical, cognitive, and neurological functions after a stroke. Consequently, I started painting, and eventually became a full-time artist, giving rise to the concept of Art That Heals?.
The meaning of the Art That Heals? concept was shaped over the course of creating artworks for more than 18 years.? Growing up, I was aware that The Book of Torah prohibits producing images of faces, and it is surprising that later in life, as an abstract artist, I would gain a deeper understanding of this limitation.
The process of creating a painting in a meditative mode, without prior sketches and a pre-mixed color palette, allows me to engage the right part of my brain while easing the left part. This leads to mental uplifting and a connection to an unknown source that different groups refer to as Universal Mind, Creative Force, or The One. During this painting process, I release and reflect on what's inside myself onto the canvas - in reality, I paint my inner self. It's like capturing a photograph of inner thoughts, feelings, soul, and other elements of the inner self - something that cannot be recorded by X-ray or MRI. In a broader sense, everyone's inner self appears beautiful, and so do the paintings made with this understanding in mind.

In summary, at a subconscious level, art creates an impact on both the creator and the beholder. Artwork is a living element in your home - choose what nourishes your soul and body!
