A Story of Resilience, Power & Destiny ft. Kiran Khatanhar

Life has a way of nudging us, sometimes gently, sometimes with force, towards paths we never imagined for ourselves. And for Kiran Khatanhar , it was a series of quiet whispers, growing louder with time, until she could no longer ignore them. Sitting across from me during our Google Meet, Kiran opened up about her journey, a story not just of success, but of reinvention, resilience, and the bravery to start over at a stage in life where most people are settling into their comfort zones.

“I never thought I’d end up here,” she said, her voice steady but with a hint of awe, as though even she couldn’t quite believe the path she’d taken. “At 38, I started Kkatha from scratch.”

Her words lingered in the air. It’s not easy to start over. Not when you’ve spent over a decade in a stable career, PR and marketing, in her case it was travelling extensively, building networks, and establishing a name. But there she was, at the crossroads of life, where so many of us find ourselves at some point. For Kiran, that moment came when motherhood and health concerns collided with a deeper realization: she wasn’t happy.

Leaving behind a steady job is never an easy decision. But for Kiran, it was more than that. It was about reclaiming joy. “Freelancing didn’t fill that gap,” she admitted. “I knew I needed something more.”

What she needed was freedom, the freedom to express herself, to create something that spoke to her heart. And for Kiran, that freedom came in the form of jewellery. But it wasn’t just about creating pieces that looked beautiful. It was about creating something that meant something, something that told a story.

“Jewelry is personal,” she said, her eyes sparkling with a deep conviction. “It’s the purest form of self-expression a woman can own.”

And so, Kkatha Accessories was born. A brand built not on trends or market demands, but on the essence of storytelling. Every piece Kiran designs carries with it a fragment of her journey, a reflection of the individuality and strength that each woman possesses.

But the road to creating Kkatha wasn’t without its challenges. “I started with nothing,” she confessed. “No roadmap, no blueprint. Just a vision of what I wanted to create.”

The initial days were filled with uncertainty, shoots with models, trying to get the word out, attending pop-ups, and building her website from the ground up. But despite the hurdles, Kiran pushed forward, driven by a belief in her brand and the impact it could have.

And now, as Kkatha continues to grow, so does Kiran’s dream. Her vision goes beyond just designing beautiful jewellery. She dreams of collaborating with women artisans across India, celebrating their unique craftsmanship, and giving them a platform through Kkatha. “This isn’t just about jewellery,” she smiled. “It’s about telling stories through art, through expression.”

Her words resonate deeply with me because they remind me that life is rarely a straight line. It twists and turns, it pulls us in unexpected directions, and sometimes, just sometimes, it asks us to start over. Kiran did just that, she started over at 38, not out of necessity, but out of a deep, unwavering desire to build something meaningful.

“This is my dream,” she said, “my passion, my purpose, and I cannot wait to share it with the world.”

In Kiran’s story, I see not just the birth of a brand, but the birth of a new chapter, one that she’s writing every day with courage, creativity, and heart. And as Kkatha grows, so does her belief in the power of starting anew, no matter your age, no matter your circumstances.
