A Story of Palestinian Taste...

The Palestinian farmers have planted olive trees on their lands for hundreds of years, where the harvest season is special and celebrations are held especially at this time when they also produce oil from their own harvests.

During the harvest days, farmers used to feed themselves by cooking quick foods from nature's bounty such as chicken, grilled onions and green pepper with wheat kernels placed on top of bread and added olive oil, in order to fill their hunger, this Palestinian meal became a famous dish known as Musakhan, which means "heated", because the bread used is usually from the night, so they heated it with olive oil to soften it first and make it crispy and delicious.

The Palestinian family members sit during the break and enjoy their meal after they complete their work. Now, Musakhan is considered a heavy meal because of the huge amount of olive oil in it, but hey! we won't deprive you of this heavenly taste, will we?! I suggest producing your own version with less olive oil, since it already contains vegetables and whole grains, exactly what your body loves.

Musakhan became famous in the Middle East to the point where neighbouring countries included it in their traditional dishes when Israel aka (people who enjoy killing civilians and bombing hospitals) displaced Palestinians (the land owners) to neighbouring countries in the Nakba in 1948 at the beginning of its colonization of Palestine.

Musakhan is a dish with a great history, greater than an entire entity claiming that Palestine with its goodness belongs to them while Musakhan alone, has a more authentic story than they do.
